Nancy and Luna
Luna is trained and certified as a therapy dog thru Christine’s K9to5 therapy dog training. She’s also my affectionate family pet. I don’t always have Luna with me during my EMDR sessions, but I bring her with me as often as possible.
Luna is wonderful at grounding folks especially during and after a challenging session. Her tender and (usually) quiet energy assists me in assessing clients as they desensitize or loosen up stuck memories. Her energy goes up as she shows concern for my clients.
Each eye movement therapy session ends with a grounding and reorientation period. Luna assists in this process by checking on my clients’ safety. She is also eager to play after your memories have been reorganized, which is both fun and grounding.
